I will bless you !

wellGenesis 26:12-24

Genesis 26:24, “The Lord appeared to him that night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; fear not, for I am with you; I will bless you, and I will multiply your seed for the sake of my servant Abraham’.”

This promise is for me too, not only for Isaac. How do I respond to this promise? How did Isaac answer? He responded wholeheartedly making an altar unto the Lord. How different would our lives be if godly prayer would be our central point?

God rewarded Isaac for his patient faith: his enemies came to him to ask reconciliation with an oath. Were they surprised that Isaac did not fight for his rights? Were they surprised that Isaac’s wealth multiplied in a time of famine?Did they recognize God’s blessing in Isaac’s family?

This thing has a spiritual significance for all believers. Jesus Christ promised to all who trust in Him a spring of living water that nobody can stop it (John 4:14). Through faith in Him, Christ uses us to bless those who are around us. “He that believes in Me, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water, as the Scripture says.(John 7:38).

Isaac’s enemies came to seek for peace, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.(Proverbs 16:7). Have you experienced this truth in your life? What do you do to your enemies? Isaac forgave them and gave them food.

Isaac dug wells by faith and experienced peace. Why do you think that his enemies called for peace? How can one win by fighting against God and His elect ones? What should you do today to maintain peace in all your relationships? God gives us grace to solve the problems between us and maintain peace in all relationships. Some relationships are very difficult, but as for us, let us live in peace with all men. Let us give God’s grace to others. The grace of God depends on His character, not on our goodness.

Lord, help me not to be afraid of people or circumstances, for You are with me! You are my God! You take care of me and give me Your peace. Your grace is sufficient to me in all circumstances.

Lord, help me to live by faith to experience peace!
