May the Lord be gracious to you!

May the Lord give you His peace!

But before I can pray it for others, I have to receive it for myself.

We have a High Priest in heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has prayed and is praying this blessing over us. He has prayed that the Lord would bless us and keep us and cause His face to shine upon us and be gracious to us and give us His peace.

Grace and peace. Grace and peace to you and to me! They come to us from God. He is the One who blesses. They come to us through Jesus Christ His Son.
